Matt grey German kitchen for a Tenterden flat

The brief

When Mr W came back to our Hawkhurst showroom, it wasn't his first visit: he'd bought a kitchen from us over 15 years earlier, so he already knew the quality of our designs and the reassurance of having everything managed under one roof. After moving into a modern flat in the centre of Tenterden, he found the existing kitchen tired, inefficient and poorly laid out. It didn't make the best use of the space or the light, and the dated appliances were no longer up to standard. He had a clear vision of a contemporary, practical kitchen, and turned to Martins again to bring it to life.

The design

Our designer, Scott, reimagined the space from the ground up. A better layout gave it better flow, smarter storage and a more efficient use of every inch, as well as a sleek, modern look. After a few showroom visits to refine the details, Mr W chose a German-made kitchen, known for its precision and contemporary styling, with each unit individually inspected for quality before it leaves the factory. Its 8 to 10 week lead time is a little longer than our British ranges, but the result is a beautifully finished, truly modern kitchen. For the appliances, Mr W chose from our full NEFF range: a Slide&Hide N50 oven and a warming drawer, for everyday cooking and entertaining. A Quooker tap gives instant boiling and chilled filtered water while saving worktop space, and a slim 300 mm Bosch wine cooler adds a touch of everyday luxury to the compact layout.

The result

One of the main reasons Mr W chose Martins again was that we manage the whole project, from design and specification to installation and aftercare, so the process was smooth, co-ordinated and stress-free. The finished kitchen suits his contemporary flat perfectly: a refined, efficient space that blends modern design with everyday practicality. Fifteen years after his first Martins kitchen, his new one reflects the same things that brought him back: quality, service and peace of mind.
