About cookies
Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. We only use the ones our website needs to work, unless you choose to allow more.
Separately, our own server counts visits to each page and how people found our website, without cookies and without keeping anyone's internet address, so this doesn't depend on your choice. Our visit statistics are explained below, with a switch to turn them off.
Your choice
When you first visit, we ask whether you're happy for us to use analytics and advertising cookies. "Accept all" and "Reject all" sit side by side, or you can choose each type separately. Nothing optional is set unless you accept.
We keep your choice in a cookie called kbw_consent for 6 months, so we don't ask on every page. You can change your mind at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Always on: our security cookie
__Host-kbw_csrf is set when you open one of our forms (such as contact or booking). It stops other websites sending forms to us in your name. It holds a random code and no personal information, and it's deleted when you close your browser. Our forms need it to work safely, so we don't ask for permission.
Analytics (only if you accept)
Google Analytics cookies (named _ga, and _ga_ followed by a code) help us see how people use our website, such as which pages are most useful. They last up to 2 years. Google provides this service for us.
We also keep a note in your own browser (under the name kbw-touches) of how you first found our website and how you found it most recently, for example a search engine, a link or an advert, and the page you arrived on. It's only sent to us if you send us an enquiry or book an appointment.
Advertising (only if you accept)
Google Ads cookies (such as _gcl_au, which lasts 90 days) tell us which of our adverts bring people to our website and lead to an enquiry or a phone call. If you arrive from one of our adverts, the advert's reference is kept with how you found us. We don't use cookies to show you adverts based on your browsing.
Saved ideas
If you tap the heart on a kitchen on our Inspiration pages, the list is kept in your own browser (under the name kbw-ideas), not on our systems. It's only sent to us if you choose to include it when you book an appointment. You can clear it at any time by tapping the hearts again or clearing your browser's data for our website.
Visit statistics (you can switch this off)
While you look around our website, your browser tab keeps a random reference for your visit in its own temporary storage (under the name kbw-visit), which is deleted when you close the tab. Each page reports itself with it, so we can see how long visits last, which pages they include, whether a visit led to an enquiry, booking or phone call, and how that visit found us. It isn't a cookie, holds nothing about you, and isn't shared with anyone.
To switch it off, use the button under "Your choice about visit statistics" on this page. We then remember your choice in your own browser (under the name kbw-no-stats). If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, it's off already. Your visits are then only included in our anonymous page counts.
Other websites
Links to other websites, such as Martins Direct or the manufacturers' websites, take you to sites with their own cookie and privacy policies.
Managing cookies
Besides "Cookie settings", you can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block our security cookie, our forms won't work, so please call us on 01580 753470 instead.
Your choice about visit statistics
With JavaScript switched off in your browser, your visits are only included in our anonymous page counts.
